hints and tips for your wedding invitations
If you are thinking about ordering your wedding/civil parnership invitations with us here are some
suggestions to get you started:
- Always order at least an extra 5 or 10 invites for people you may have forgotten!
- It is much cheaper to print at the same time rather than ordering more later.
- Discuss with each other any ideas you may have (colours, poses etc) so that you both agree before ordering.
- Search out some recent photos or if you have a digital camera, take some piccies
in the pose you will want
to be in (remember to smile!) and email them to us. - Please state your eye colours (as these aren't always clear on photos), and any
suggestions regarding clothes
and hairstyles (the brides don't have to be too specific!) - Text for the front and inside of your invite, plus any suggestions regarding the style of font.
- Background ideas, such as pictures of the venue, colours, confetti etc.
- Any other things you may wish to add such as flowers, a tiara, jewellery etc.

WHAT ARE THE INVITE SPECIFICATIONS?
The size of the invites are 21cm x 14.8cm (flat), 10.5cm x 14.8cm (folded), portrait click here.
Landscape invites are 29.7 x 10.5cm (flat), 14.8 x 10.5 (folded) click here.
The invites are
printed a 340gsm card (nice and thick), the front is gloss laminated
and the inside contains
your printed text with space for handwritten text if required.
The invite are then scored for
easy folding.

CAN I ORDER MY INVITES IN A DIFFERENT SIZE TO THE ABOVE?
Yes, if you have a specific size in mind, please let us know and we will give you a free quote.
WHEN DO I PAY?
Thats up to you! Some people like to pay a deposit (25%) when ordering, some people
prefer
to see some artwork first, all we ask is that full payment is made before your invites
go to the printers.
You can pay by cheque or by bank transfer.
WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME ON THESE INVITES?
This varies from order to order but we can usually have your printed invites with you
in about 4 weeks.
If you need them more quickly please let us know!
ARE ENVELOPES AND POSTAGE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Yes, good quality white envelopes and UK postage are included in the invitation price.
HOW ARE MY INVITES SENT TO ME?
Once they have been printed we post your invites by recorded delivery (which means they
must be signed for)
to an address of your choice. Postage is free to all UK customers.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVEN'T ORDERED ENOUGH INVITES?
It's no problem, Desired Designs will keep hold of your print files if you need a reprint,
although it is much
cheaper if you add a few extra invitations (5-10) when placing your
original order.
